About the event
Citizen Science Volunteer Opportunity
The Cheshire Phenology Project is a joint study conducted by the CT Agricultural Extension Service (CAES) under the direction of Dr. Kelsey Fisher and the Cheshire Pollinator Pathway.
The study will take place at the Cheshire Pollinator Pathway’s Original Garden, 487 North Brooksvale Rd., across from Lock 12.
Volunteer participants will observe sections of the garden, noting phases of plant life, and monitoring pollinators.
Why a phenology study? Consistently observing and noting the observations gives us information on when flowers bloom and die, when pollinators arrive and leave, and from the observations, we can begin to see patterns, from year to year, in pollinator activity, weather impacts, and potential developing problems.
Training will be done in Cheshire on Sunday, June 1st at the North Brooksvale garden beginning at 10 a.m.
